Caprese flavors are a timeless Italian classic, and this Caprese Flatbread is a simple way to enjoy them without the fuss. Inspired by the beloved Caprese salad, this recipe turns those fresh ingredients into a warm and crispy flatbread perfect for lunch, dinner, or entertaining guests. Its slightly chewy texture and ability to crisp up when baked make it an excellent base for quick pizzas. Heating up naan bread in the oven transforms it into a crispy, golden crust. Substitutions

If you need to swap ingredients, here are some easy substitutions:

  • Bread - Use pita or gf naan bread instead of regular naan in your Caprese Flatbread recipe.
  • Cheese - Replace mozzarella with provolone or fontina for a different cheesy naan bread experience.
  • Herbs - Swap basil for arugula for a peppery bite. Or use both!
  • Tomatoes- Try grape tomatoes or sun-dried tomatoes instead of sliced tomatoes.

Variations

Want to switch things up? Here are some delicious ways to customize your Caprese Flatbread:

  • Spicy Kick: Add crushed red pepper flakes or drizzle with hot honey.
  • Meaty Option: Top with cooked bacon or prosciutto.
  • Cheesy Twist: Swap mozzarella for burrata or goat cheese.
  • Pesto Flavor: Spread a thin layer of pesto before adding toppings.

Equipment

  • Baking sheet
  • Parchment paper
  • Pizza cutter
  • Cooking spray or pastry brush
  • Knife for slicing tomatoes and basil
  • Cheese grater (if shredding mozzarella)

Storage

Store leftover naan pizza from this Caprese Flatbread recipe in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up 2-3 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer for the best texture when heating up naan bread.

Top Tip

Use freshly shredded mozzarella for better melting—it makes a big difference compared to pre-shredded cheese!
