Happy Birthday to my girl. 🤍 This past year was s Happy Birthday to my girl. 🤍

This past year was such a big one for you.

You broke your first bone. You ran your first mile. You went to Disney twice, California for the first time, and rode your first upside-down roller coaster.

You started middle school, with all the ups and downs that came with it, and still kept showing up, being your best self.

You competed in cheer, finished your third year of sideline cheer, made new friends, kept your besties close, and started dreaming about trying new sports too, including lacrosse after watching how much your brother loves it.

You learned how to prioritize what matters, believe in yourself, and find your confidence in a whole new way.

One of my favorite moments was watching you dance to the song you always wanted to dance to at Mamo’a memorial, in front of your school. That took so much courage, and I will never forget it.

And maybe most beautifully, you have grown so close to your Christian faith. Watching you lean into God and let your faith become your own has been one of the most special parts of this year.

This year stretched you. It challenged you. It asked you to be brave in ways most people probably never saw.

But I saw it.

I saw your kindness.
I saw your courage.
I saw your confidence grow.
I saw you becoming more and more you.

I hope you always remember that your worth is not decided by other people, hard seasons, or the moments that try to shake you.

You are loved because you are you.

You are kind, courageous, strong, funny, faithful, and deeply loved by God, your family, and friends.

Happy Birthday, Ani. I love you more than you’ll ever understand. 🤍
So many people do not even know who Armenians are. So many people do not even know who Armenians are. We are one of the world’s oldest peoples, and Armenia is a small country between Europe and Asia. Through the Armenian diaspora, our people, culture, and traditions have spread across the world.

And for me, this is not just history, I had the privilege of knowing my great-grandmother, who came to this country because of the Armenian Genocide.

April 24 is the day Armenians around the world remember and commemorate the Armenian Genocide. It is a day to honor the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the generations who carried our family’s stories forward.

We are still here.
We still remember.
And we will continue to tell our stories.

Episode 1 of my Armenian family recipe series. I’ Episode 1 of my Armenian family recipe series.

I’m starting with my grandma’s spinach pie because it feels like the perfect place to begin.

April has me reflecting on my Armenian heritage, and next month would have been my grandma’s 99th birthday. Many of my family’s recipes were passed down through Armenians whose lives and kitchens were shaped by migration, loss, resilience, and home.

This recipe came through my grandma’s mother-in-law, who was from Smyrna, which means it carries influence from more than one culture. That’s what I love about family recipes. They tell a deeper story.

These may not be what everyone would label “traditional Armenian recipes,” but they are recipes from my Armenian family, and I’m really honored to share them.

Comment RECIPE and I’ll send you the full recipe.

There’s something no one really talks about… Comi There’s something no one really talks about…

Coming home from a family vacation hits different.

It’s not just the unpacking, the laundry, or even the jet lag. It’s this quiet realization that something shifted while you were gone.

You’re watching your kids on rides, laughing like they always have… but somehow it feels different. They’re a little older. A little more independent. A little closer to becoming who they’re going to be.

And you start to wonder…
Was this one of our last vacations like this?

Not the last vacation ever… but the last one where everyone wants to do the same things, stay close, soak it all in together.

Because the truth is, it won’t stop.
They’ll keep growing.
Their interests will change.
Schedules will get fuller.
Life will look different.

And maybe that’s the part that catches you off guard.

It’s not sadness exactly… it’s awareness.

That these moments, the rides, the late nights, the sunsets, the laughter, they aren’t guaranteed forever in this same way.

So you sit in it a little longer.
You hold onto it a little tighter.
You wish, just for a second…

“Can time slow down a bit?”

But maybe it’s not about slowing it down.

Maybe it’s about noticing it while you’re in it.

Okay… let’s talk about these for a second because Okay… let’s talk about these for a second because wow.

These are our baked ground beef tacos… crispy, cheesy, easy… but the real reason they didn’t last is the Don Pancho Cilantro Lime Crema from @donpanchofoods.
If you’ve ever had the Costco taco kits, this is that sauce!!! It’s great with salads, seafood, steak and even to dip your French fries. Creamy, fresh, a little tangy… it’s definitely an everything sauce.

Here’s what you need for this recipe:
Ground beef
Homemade Taco seasoning
Tomato paste
Flour tortillas
Shredded cheese
Lettuce
Pico
Don Pancho Cilantro Lime Crema @donpanchofoods

You’ll find the crema in the refrigerated section at Costco right now, but it is seasonal, so grab it when you see it!

Comment RECIPE and I’ll send you all the details (exact steps, timing, everything).

Also… how many tacos would you eat? Be honest 😅

Disney food photo dump. 🥘 💕 We spent a lot of time Disney food photo dump. 🥘 💕 We spent a lot of time trying new things this trip.

Alek’s favorite- @naples_ristorante pizza. You can never go wrong with pizza where the pepperoni curls up. Pizza connoisseurs know what I mean! These pizza’s were HUGE!!!

Armen’s Favorite- At Disneyland they had a dole whip float in pineapple juice that he liked so much he had it twice!

Hub’s favorite- he could not stop talking about the garlic pretzel bread that was filled with some sort of cheese. I’m going to have to try that next time!

My daughter and I both loved the Kabobs from the quick service right outside of the Indiana Jones ride. You can get either a beef or chicken kabob in a sweet or spicy sauce. We had it for breakfast twice. 😜. Perfect way to start the day!

Honorary mention is those Churros. I also had to get that twice. I love cinnamon and love that it’s warm!

I think Disneyland has better food than Disney World. What do you think? What did we miss? Do you have any favorites at Disney World that we should check out next time?
